 from Sister Breathed ...
« Thread Started on Apr 19, 2005, 5:18pm »

Standing with my sister, I will be constant and at the appointed times touching and agreeing in prayer.

"Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

My sister's only child (my beloved nephew) was murdered in a botched robbery attempt in Savannah, Georgia on February 7, 2004. Sean was the general manager of a restaurant, college graduate, up and coming entrepreneur who moved to Savannah to be a blessing to his mother and dad. The 2 men accused of his murder were captured in less than 2 weeks of the murder. The 19 year old is the alleged trigger man. As Sean told them that he didn't want to die and tried to convince them that they really didn't want to do this, the 19-year old pulled him down to his knees and shot him in his head.

The SCHEDULED upcoming trial regarding Sean's murder is next week, Tuesday, April 26 for the 19 year old (now 20 year old). We've been praying and CONTINUE TO BELIEVE God that there will be no trial. As such, there is SCHEDULED 2 trials (the 17 year old (now 18 years old)) is SCHEDULED to be tried separately), one for each of the guys involved. (Notice that I've said "scheduled" because the legal system says one thing, but we stand on the Word of God!!!)

On top of this, my sister and brother-in-law have learned that my brother-in-law has cancer.

Anyway --- We are praying for God's favor, strength and mercy (the media has already begun contacting my sister) -- it appears that witnesses are afraid. (We are also fasting.) We solicit your prayers for the families of these young men and for them.

On Sunday, April 24 through Tuesday, April 26, we will be praying at the following times. Please join us:
Prayer Times: 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. (EDT)
Even if you live in time zones different from Eastern Daylight Savings Time (EDT), we can still be on one accord with prayer (see below).

So for the record, the times for praying will be as follows:

CDT Time: 8:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
EDT Time (East Coast): 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
PDT Time (West Coast): 6:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. (PDT)

If we follow the above, we'll be praying at the same time (please feel free to correct me).

On behalf of our family we thank you all so very much for your support and love!
GOD IS WORKING IT ALL OUT! "

updating and continuing to stand ...

We sent a request out last month, but the trial for Derek Horne, the 19-year old (alleged) gunman, was postponed.

The trial is scheduled for this coming Monday, May 23 through Friday, May 27. There are so many things going on with this trial -- scared witnesses, an outrageous reporter, hostile witnesses, etc. Also, many that were able to attend in April to support my sister and brother-in-law, will not be there to offer support (including me). There are many other dynamics to this case, which I am unable to share.

My sister, Sean's mom, will have to testify Monday afternoon to identify her son through autopsy pictures. Last night, the ADA (Assistant District Attorney) brought those pictures to her so she wouldn't be shocked when viewing them on a large screen at the trial. She didn't sleep at all last night (also, her husband of 30 years has prostate cancer). She will have to testify and view the pictures in front of the jurors alone -- not with her husband or our mother for support.

Can you imagine having to see your only child as you did when you first got the news that he was murdered Nonetheless, we believe God is well able, but the burden is so great!

Our family is praying and fasting. We ask that you join us in the praying and if led, fasting. We are praying for the Assistant District Attorney and their team, the judge, the witnesses (for their protection and for God to give them peace), for Derek Horne and Charles Hill, that defendants (that God will soften their hearts), for the strength of my mother, Sean's fiancée and Sean's parents.

Here is the information:

The fast can begin tomorrow through Monday, May 23rd. The particulars of the fast are as the Lord leads you.

Prayer is as follows:

(PDT)
Thank you and God bless

-------------------------------------

The times for prayer actually start from today through Monday.

Also, my sister just left a voice mail message and the autopsy pictures looked worse than when she saw him right after the murder (when she actually saw him after the murder, he had the peace of God upon his face). The pics were horrible.

Nonetheless, we are praying corporately from today through Monday -- however, I will be consistent in prayers through the entire week of the trial.

The next trial for the 2nd defendant is scheduled in June and my brother-in-law's prostate cancer surgery is scheduled right after this first surgery - June 1st.

GOD IS ABLE!

Thank you so very much!

Saints of God, we never know when tragedies will come knocking at our doors -- I have to encourage you to really seek relationship with the Lord, not legalism. When these times hit, you have to hold on to everything you have in Christ -- and even with that, the pain is intense. How much more if you don't have a serious relationship with Christ? SCARY!
