Our Deceased Loved Ones « Thread Started on Oct 29, 2005, 10:20pm »
A topic came up in a recent Bible Study -- is it true that we will NOT know our saved loved ones when we get to Heaven?
I do know the Word talks about there being no marriage there, but there seems to be varying schoools of thought about being reunited with loved ones in Heaven.
How do I know God loves me? Because he sent me Suge!

I think that the Bible shows us that there is a belief that there will be a reuniting with those who we knew and loved on this side of glory. Consider the following:
David's hope was to see his son again:
"But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me." (2 Sam. 12:23)
At the Transfiguration, the disciples recognized Moses and Elijah:
"And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elijah: Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah: not knowing what he said." (Luk 9:30-33)
Finally, the rich man recognized BOTH Abraham and Lazarus the Beggar who ate his crumbs:
"There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom." (Luke 16:19-23)
Thus, I believe there will be a knowing and a recognition..
